In the Spotlight… Blackboard Mobile Learn

Blackboard Mobile Learn, a mobile application that gives students full access to their HuskyCT course information directly from their smartphones or tablets, is now available.

With applications designed specifically for each mobile platform, students can check grades and assignments, view documents, create threaded discussion posts and comment on blogs and journals, upload content and view documents, view course rosters and more. Instructors can also post announcements.

Nancy Bull, Vice Provost of Information Technology & CIO, and Sally Reis, Vice Provost for Academic Affairs, have co-sponsored the Mobile Learn site license so that all UConn Students, educators, and staff can download the app through app stores and use it in Wi-Fi or 3G networks for free. UITS has installed the building block in HuskyCT and ITL and a few pilot instructors have tested the app during Fall 2012 semester.

Blackboard Mobile Learn is currently available in native applications for Android, BlackBerry®, and HP webOS smartphones as well as the Apple® iPhone®, iPad® and iPod touch®.
