IT service incident

On Sunday, December 27th, the University of Connecticut was the victim of an IT service compromise. For a period of time on that day, all UConn traffic was redirected to a non-university site that contained harmful software. While UConn sites never hosted malicious software, the temporary redirection resulted in a number of them being flagged by the Phishing and Malware Protection features in some popular browsers and blacklisted. As a result, browsers displayed a warning message rather than going directly go to blacklisted sites. ITS in concert with our university IT community is actively in the process of resolving this ongoing issue. For more detailed information about the incident, visit http://security.uconn.edu.
